The Summer To Fall Dress
While the autumn season will be upon us in a matter of days, the temperatures outside, especially in the southern states, may still be screaming summertime. I’m sure we are all itching to get into cozy cardis, shackets and faux leather leggings, but I’m afraid in most states we still have some summertime temps ahead of us. This is the time of year when summer to fall transitional outfits become ideal. Clothes shopping for summer temperatures but with fall on the mind is absolutely doable and can also be quite economical.
While looking for “the summer dress” for myself, I found this very flattering midi dress in a soft faux silk fabric. As someone who stands a little taller than most (I’m 5’9”), I love a midi dress simply for the length. While it is a more conservative length, the high side slit adds a bit of allure back into the dress. The ruching detail at the bust, scoop neckline and on-trend mini cap sleeves are all flattering feminine touches.
When shopping for a summer dress that you’d like to carry over into your fall wardrobe, it’s important to stay within a color palette appropriate for fall. While the lightweight fabric and short sleeves of this dress are ideal for summer, the soft olive green color of this dress makes it a perfect option for fall as well.
Because of its versatility, one of my favorite and most worn closet staples is the classic denim jacket. I love a jean jacket for effortlessly taking many summer outfits into fall since it can be simply added to an outfit on cooler mornings and removed later for warmer afternoon temps.
The best part about this dress? It’s on clearance with all sizes still available. And remember, there’s no need to sweat the “fall” stuff when you invest in a transitional dress and timeless denim jacket.
